Features:
Synicem hip braces are temporary implants that facilitate the treatment of an infected hip prosthesis. The technique is performed in two stages: first, the infected hip prosthesis is removed and a spacer is placed. Second, when the infection is under control, the spacer is removed and a permanent prosthesis is implanted.
They offer various benefits related to the quality of life of the patient during the treatment of infection and facilitate surgical revision, both during the installation of the final prosthesis and during the rehabilitation of the patient.
Composition
Synicem spacers have a strong 316L stainless steel center frame and are coated with bone cement with a high concentration of antibiotics (gentamicin or tobramycin).
