Features:
The Synicem evolution knee spacer is a temporary implant that facilitates the treatment of an infected knee prosthesis. The technique is performed in two stages: first, the infected knee prosthesis is removed, and a spacer is installed in place. Second, when the infection is under control, the spacer is removed and a permanent prosthesis is implanted.
It also provides various benefits related to the quality of life of the patient during the treatment of infection and facilitates surgical revision, both during the installation of the final prosthesis and during the rehabilitation of the patient.
The Synicem Evolution spacer is a sterile implant, ready to use and available in various sizes. It consists of two independent elements – tibial and femoral – designed to achieve maximum balance between the device and the patient with the fastest possible application. The tibial part is formed by a flat base, in which the femoral part is hinged. The two components are inserted into the cavity where the removed prosthesis was located and fixed to the bone with antibiotic-based bone cement.
