Features:

SYNICEM Shoulder Spacer is a temporary implant designed for the treatment of shoulder arthroplasty infections. For this, a two-stage technique is used: first, the infected joint prosthesis is removed and the appropriate spacer is installed. Second, once the infection is under control, the spacer is removed and the final prosthesis is implanted.

Composition

The strength of the SYNICEM brace is reinforced with a central 316L stainless steel metal bar; this is coated with an acrylic bone cement with an antibiotic (gentamicin or tobramycin).
